A purple flowered California Poppy! (Eschscholszia californica). We hardly knew! Same species, but the blossoms range from a pastel purple to a rich magenta. Like all other California Poppies, these will readily naturalize and reseed in any garden and have low fertility requirements. A perfect flower for establishing wild flower gardens or meadows.
