Tithonia is the one annual that cheerfully graces the gardens of every wise low-input and perennial gardener. Easy to start from seed and low maintenance thereafter, it blooms continuosly from mid-summer until first frost. The stunning flowers are a practically unphotographable bold orange - very appealing to all manner of pollinators, including hummingbirds.
This bushy plant can grow upwards of 5 or 6ft, and likes to be able to lean against a fence or some other support. Beautiful in a hedge or edge planting, or as an accent of color. Truly an incomparable mood lifter in the garden.
