An extremely productive Kabocha Winter Squash (Cucurbita maxima) strain that produces large, dark green skinned fruits ranging from 4 to 5 pounds. Kurihomare sets a significant amount of fruit per plant – 5+ fruits per plant under ideal conditions.

Kabocha Squash is an annual plant that produces harvestable fruit approximately 100 days when seeding in ideal climate and soil conditions. Late May through mid June are when squashes are typically seeded, but we can start them in our Mediterranean climate as late as the first week of July.
